Since Filipinos with mental illness are more likely to seek help from peers than professionals or family, we establish student-led support groups within schools. In meetings, students can have a safe, comfortable outlet to discuss shared experiences and struggles.
Members come together in a supportive environment to share experiences and concerns. During these meetings, we sit in a circle to foster a sense of unity and confidentiality, encouraging open discussions about mental health challenges and triumphs. These meetings are a cornerstone of our efforts to provide peer support, promote mental wellness, and build a resilient community among Filipino youth.
